Are there any specific equipment or gear innovations that you believe will have a significant impact on the industry in 2024?

Sony.

How is photography making the world a better place in 2024?

For me, photography makes the world a better place in so many ways! It’s about raising awareness, capturing those incredible moments, sharing art and telling stories that matter. We are applying skills to use light to be able to portray our world, bringing us closer to different cultures and people and inspiring action.

Photographers are also reminded to embrace diversity. For me, one of the most important aspects is that photography lets us express ourselves and keeps our memories alive. We are here to make a real difference!

AI Photography with the rapid development of artificial intelligence and computational photography techniques, more and more photographers are leveraging AI tools to enhance their images. AI algorithms can help improve image quality, remove unwanted elements, and even generate new artistic effects.

Personally, I’m learning how to use it and mix it with my own work. Programs like Midjourney and Dalle are game changers for all artists because of the ability to create stunning images without a camera or a team. This is insane, a real game-changer.

If you could pick a photography mentor in 2024, who would you pick? Why?

I admire a lot of photographers, but right now, only Cho Gi-Seok comes to my mind; Cho Gi-Seok is a South Korean photographer and the founder of the streetwear brand KUSIKOHC. Known for his surrealist images, Gi-Seok has also applied his artistic approach to his apparel and accessories label KUSIKOHC.

Gi-Seok dreamed of being an art director since childhood and experimented with the fields of graphic and set design before pivoting to photography. His work always leaves me completely speechless; the way he portrays and does post-production is from another world.

The unavoidable question: How do you see the use of artificial intelligence or machine learning impacting photography in 2024?

I do appreciate the real hard work, but we cannot avoid the use of artificial intelligence, and we as artists need to be on the same side and find the best use of it in our work without losing the magic of the click.

Annie Leibovitz at Work” by Annie Leibovitz is a very special book for me. In this book, the amazing photographer Annie Leibovitz provides personal anecdotes, behind-the- scenes stories, and technical details about her most famous photographs. It offers a glimpse into her creative process and the world of celebrity portraiture. It really inspired me to continue my career as a photographer.

What is your go-to method for overcoming creative block and finding inspiration in 2024?

I like experimenting with different photography techniques, such as long exposures, macro photography, or double exposures. Pushing the boundaries gives me a new perspective to keep creating. I also like to see other artists’ work; they inspire me to keep creating. I also pay more attention to stories that I can recreate in photography or a message that I want to tell.

If you could give one piece of advice to a beginner in photography, what would it be?

Keep shooting; the key is consistency.

What is your biggest strength and your biggest weakness as a photographer in 2024?

My biggest strength is my knowledge, and my biggest weakness is the new technology competing with the classic skills for photography.

Keep shooting; the key is consistency.

Can you share a specific tool, technology, or software that has revolutionized your workflow and significantly enhanced your creative process as a photographer?

Lightroom and Photoshop are my best friends.

What is the biggest challenge in your photography genre in 2024? What are the solutions?

The biggest challenge is the competition. There are so many amazing artists out there, and the solution is to keep creating and especially defining your own identity.

What is the most important factor to consider when choosing a photography niche or specialization in 2024?

If you can live from it, it is a very good factor, but also if it is your passion.

Is there anything else you would like to add or any final thoughts you would like to share about your artistic journey, inspirations, or the impact you hope to make through your photography?

My journey started around 10 years ago. I’ve been working really hard since then, and now I finally got to work for big brands like Ray-Ban and Shein. I really hope to create images that make an impact and inspire others to pursue their photography dreams.
