Since 2000

Where we come from

Great Big Photography World was founded in 2000 by photographer Skip Heine, as an online home for photography lessons, gear reviews and photographer showcases.

Over the years the site grew into hundreds of tutorials and a podcast with working photographers. In 2026 we turned it into a community, so the people reading the guides can now also meet, share their photos and learn from each other.
