Roadmap “Great Big Photography World”

We decided to start developing a brand-new platform. The current technology (Wordpress)  doesn’t allow us to offer performant new features. Therefore, we made a big decision to create a custom-built new application. Going custom is the only way to enable us to build dynamics and features tailored to our needs.

We want to decide on our directions together with you. At our roadmap we welcome our community members to submit their ideas on ideas regarding the brand new platform we are developing.

Members can vote on ideas they like, and we will prioritize the development based on the most popular ideas.

Full disclosure: this transition will take time. Building a custom platform is expensive. We are a small company, and our development speed depends on our monthly income. The first version of the new platform is expected to launch by the end of 2025.

At Great Big Photography World, we’re on a mission to inspire, educate, and empower photographers of all levels. Our roadmap is a dynamic glimpse into the exciting new features and enhancements we’re exploring to enrich your photography journey. More than just a plan, it’s a platform for collaboration, where your insights and desires help guide our focus.

Your Vision, Our Mission Your ideas fuel our innovation. Dreaming of a feature or enhancement that could transform your photography experience? Click the ‘Submit Idea’ button at the top of our roadmap. Each submission is a seed that, with community support, can grow into our next big project. Our product team reviews every idea, grouping similar concepts to ensure comprehensive research and development.

Our product team meticulously reviews every idea submitted. Often, we find that many ideas resonate with others from our community, leading us to group similar suggestions for a comprehensive review. This collaborative approach is key to our feature planning, ensuring we address a wide range of user needs and bring the most value across various scenarios.

While some ideas are already on our radar or align closely with our vision, there are others that may not fit within our future plans, meaning not every suggestion can be included in our public roadmap. However, when an idea sparks interest and aligns with our goals, we’ll move it to the “Under Consideration” section of our public roadmap. This step is crucial for us to gather additional feedback and insights from you, further shaping the direction of our developments.

When determining which features to develop and their priority, several factors come into play:

  • The benefit the feature offers to our members.
  • Whether the feature facilitates the implementation of additional functionalities in the future.
  • The alignment of the feature with the long-term vision of Great Big Photography World.
  • The amount of votes an idea/feature receives.
