Do you often find yourself feeling stressed or frustrated during your photoshoots? Do you feel like something is in the way? in this episode, I talk about four things that are blocking your creativity. Most of these things aren’t related to photography, but being mindful of them will inevitably have a positive effect on your creativity.

We talk about:

  • Everyday habits that can spark creativity
  • How taking care of yourself can help you improve as a photographer
  • Why mental health is so important in the photography industry

& much more!

I hope this episode inspires you to take better care of yourself and to focus on your unique needs. Everybody has a different definition of healthy, so make sure to spend quality time with yourself whenever you can to get a clear idea of what your needs are.

Information Overload

Information overload is a great source of stress in many people’s lives because it adds to the chaos. If you constantly consume information, whether online or offline, you’re not giving yourself the space and silence that you need to come up with your own ideas and to find inspiration on your own terms.

To overcome this, you can spend quality time with yourself. This is easier said than done, but even 10 minutes of silence can help you refresh yourself and look at the world from a more positive point of view.

Basic Needs

Your basic needs are very important because they’re the foundation of who you are. When you take good care of yourself, you’ll find it easy to have photoshoots in which you don’t get frustrated easily or give up on your ideas. Everybody’s needs are different, but most people need a healthy amount of sleep, a good diet, and exercise.

There are other areas of your life that might need more of your attention, like your social life or your creative life. If you feel that you’re missing out on something socially, you can join our online photography community, where you’ll be able to make new friends and share your work with a supportive group of people.

Growth Mindset vs. Fixed Mindset

A growth mindset helps you see potential in your everyday life and in yourself. A fixed mindset puts people in a box and makes them think that they can’t go beyond their abilities or talents.

When you see potential in your everyday life, you’ll find it easy to come up with great ideas and enjoy your photoshoots. You won’t get stressed easily, and you’ll confidently seek knowledge in the photography world.

If you feel that you often limit yourself by doubting your abilities, try learning something new every day. It doesn’t have to be something huge. In fact, starting small can help you stay motivated in the long run. A little bit of knowledge every day will help you move forward and improve your skills.
